HOUSEBOATS

Covane Fishing & Safari Lodge currently has two 4-berth houseboats, Elefante and Hipopotamo. Built by the well-known Lightleys of Knysna, they are available for self-drive hire. Designed like a floating caravan, the houseboats provide a comfortable, leisurely way to explore the Massingir Dam. The houseboats sleep 5.

Ideal for those wanting to fish, the Massingir Dam has abundent Tiger fish, as well as Talapia / Bream, Silver Karp and Barbel.  This is a tranquil option where the only other boats you will see are community fishermen in the rowing boats.
